The School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering of Wuyi University has four undergraduate majors: (1) Chemical Engineering and Technology, (2) Applied Chemistry, (3) Environmental Engineering, and (4) Textile Engineering (Textile Chemistry and Clean Production), of which Chemical Engineering and Technology has been selected as the key construction major, the construction site of the first-class undergraduate major of Guangdong Province, and has passed the professional accreditation of Chinese engineering education. It has a first level master's degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology (0817) and a professional degree in Materials and Chemical Engineering (0856). Its specialisms include green chemistry and engineering, resources and environmental engineering, and advanced materials. It has joint training bases and research projects with many universities and research institutes at home and abroad.

There are more than 60 faculty members in the school, including more than 50 full-time teachers. There are various high-level talents in the faculty, such as the National Outstanding Young Scientist Fund recipients, the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Talents of the New Century, the top 2% of the world's top scientists, and the Pearl River Scholars Distinguished Professors of Guangdong Provincial Higher Education Institutes, etc. It has established five research groups, namely, online water quality monitoring and treatment, functional organic molecules synthesis, advanced functional materials, clean production, organic polymer materials and application research groups. In the past five years, it has received more than 300 project grants, with a total funding of more than 70 million yuan, and has published more than 800 high-level scientific research papers. Three disciplines of Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering are ranked in the top 1% of the ESI global ranking.
