The School of Civil and Architectural Engineering at Wuyi University originated from the Department of Architectural Engineering established in 1985. After multiple developments and transformations, it was officially renamed the School of Civil and Architectural Engineering in 2009. The school centers on teaching, fostering a rigorous teaching atmosphere and a positive learning environment. Currently, the school offers four undergraduate programs: Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Architecture, and Traffic Engineering (Road and Bridge), and has a master's professional degree authorization point in Civil and Water Conservancy.
The school has achieved significant accomplishments in teaching and talent cultivation. All four undergraduate programs are provincial first-class professional construction points, and the Engineering Management program has passed professional assessment (accreditation). The school boasts national characteristic professional construction points, three provincial teaching teams, a provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, and has received multiple provincial teaching achievement awards. The employment rate of willing graduates remains at 100%. The school has established industry-education cooperation with multiple construction companies, promoting the integration of industry and education, and the convergence of science and education through the industry-university cooperation model.
The school possesses 15 laboratories, including BIM and construction simulation, engineering testing, and has 10 national, provincial, and municipal base platforms, providing technological innovation services and technical support for local governments and regional development. The school relies on the "China-Pacific Island Countries Disaster Prevention and Reduction Cooperation Center" to focus on the construction of disaster prevention and reduction engineering and protective engineering disciplines. In recent years, the school has achieved fruitful results in the fields of architectural cultural heritage conservation, intelligent construction and management, engineering safety and structural health monitoring and testing, and urban and rural planning and design. It holds dozens of technical patents, has undertaken more than 100 engineering projects in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and has undertaken multiple provincial and ministerial level projects.
At present, the school has 1,200 students and 68 full-time teachers, of which 41 hold doctoral degrees, 11 are professors, and 28 are associate professors or senior engineers. The school is committed to cultivating talents with solid knowledge in engineering design, construction, and management, and providing necessary preparation for students' development in related fields. Over the past 40 years, the school has cultivated nearly 10,000 talents for society.
