The School of Liberal Arts of Wuyi University was founded in 1985. It is one of the departments with the longest history and the largest number of outstanding alumnus in Wuyi University. Currently, there are three educational levels, including postgraduate education, undergraduate education and adult education. In 2015, it began to enroll master's degree candidates majoring in Subject Teaching (Chinese) Education.

The School of Liberal Arts gathers many famous scholars and enjoys a prosperous cultural heritage.We have a highly competivite faculty. There are currently 31 faculty members in the school, including 5 professors, 8 associate professors, and 13 teachers with doctoral degrees. Most of them graduated from prestigious universities.

The School of Liberal Arts actively implements the school's educational policy of "oriented towards the local area and serving the society", and actively participates in the cultural construction of the overseas Chinese hometown in Wuyi. It has published more than 20 academic works of various kinds. In recent years, the school has presided over and completed more than 20 teaching and research projects at or above the provincial level, published more than 100 Academic papers, and published 6 monographs, enjoying extensive academic influence in the province.

The School of Liberal Arts will focus on the goals of building new liberal arts with the characteristics of an overseas Chinese-funded university and constructing a new high-level university of science and engineering in the university. It will cultivate high-quality talents who can meet the strategic needs of national development and serve the society.
