On December 17, the signing and opening ceremony of the Jinan University (JNU) Key Laboratory of Philosophy and Social Science in Guangdong Province, Wuyi University (WYU) Branch was held in Room 204, Annex Building of the Cewen Business School at WYU. This event marks an important milestone in the deepened cooperation between JNU and WYU across multiple disciplines, including Business Administration, Economics, Philosophy, Public Management, Environmental Science and Engineering, and Ecology.

Present at the event were Fangjun He, Deputy Inspector of the Guangdong Social Sciences Association; Naihua Gu,Vice President of JNU; Xianzhong Song, former President of JNU and Director of the JNU Key Laboratory of Philosophy and Social Science in Guangdong Province; Jianmin Lu, Chancellor of the Zhuhai Campus of JNU; Xiangli Ou, Director of the School of Management, JNU; Hongtao Shen, Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory and faculty representatives; Tiangang Luan, Chancellor of WYU; Yunhua Zhang, former President of WYU; and leaders and faculty representatives from the School of Economics and Management, WYU.

In his speech at the ceremony, Fangjun He warmly congratulated the establishment of the laboratory branch and expressed gratitude to all the leaders, experts, and teachers involved in the process of establishment. He emphasized that the establishment is a significant measure to enhance regional ecological conservation and will provide new impetus for sustainable development. He noted that the laboratory will focus on addressing key issues in the relationship between ecological environment and economic development, offering intellectual support for government decision-making and striving to achieve more fruitful results in academic research and social services.

Gu stated in his speech that this collaboration between JNU and WYU is not only a further deepening of the relationship between the two universities but also a manifestation of collaborative innovation and resource sharing. He added that the branch will provide a broad platform for both sides in scientific research and talent cultivation, enabling efficient integration and optimal allocation of resources and promoting in-depth exchanges and cooperation in relevant fields. He expressed that the two universities will jointly make ecological progress for green development by fully leveraging their respective advantages.

Luan Tiangang emphasized that the establishment is an important milestone in promoting ecological progress in the overseas Chinese hometown and a significant outcome of the two universities' joint commitment to the green development concept. He pointed out that WYU will use its own disciplinary strengths to actively explore new models of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature and cultivate more high-quality talents who meet the requirements of the new era. He stressed that the branch is not only a gathering place for scientific research resources but will also play an important role in promoting the sustainable development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Song warmly welcomed the leaders and guests attending the ceremony and thanked everyone for their attention and support for the laboratory's development. He noted that since its establishment, the laboratory has achieved a series of results in scientific research, think-tank construction, and talent cultivation, becoming more and more socially influential. He expressed his expectation that through close cooperation with WYU, further progress will be made in new research projects and talent cultivation, contributing to the goals of ecological conservation and sustainable development.

Under the witness of the representatives attending the ceremony, Shen, and Minjing Peng, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, WYU, signed an agreement on behalf of the two universities. After the signing ceremony, Fangjun He and leaders from the two universities jointly unveiled the plaque, officially declaring the establishment of the WYU Branch.

The establishment of the branch will greatly enhance WYU's academic strength in ecological conservation and green development, promoting cross-disciplinary innovative cooperation and improving the level of scientific research. With the geographical and cultural advantages, the branch, which is located in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, will explore development models for harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, assisting local ecological environment improvement and sustainable development. Through in-depth cooperation with JNU, the branch will cultivate talents with a green development concept and practical abilities, providing strong intellectual support for serving national strategies and regional economic development.
