On the morning of September 19th, the school invited David Michael Smith, former Deputy Dean of the School of Business and Law at the University of Portsmouth in the UK, to give a presentation on campus. Luan Tiangang, Chancellor of the University, participated in the event. In his speech, he warmly welcomed the delegation from the University of Portsmouth and pointed out that launching the "2+2" Sino-foreign joint undergraduate training program with renowned foreign universities is a solid step forward for the university in promoting high-level openness to the outside world and enhancing the level of international education. Launching IELTS Training Program to Enhance Language Proficiency
In response to the requirements of the "2+2" joint training program, the school has developed a systematic study plan for freshmen centered around language learning. On the afternoon of September 19th, the IELTS training team arranged an IELTS study plan lecture for freshmen, imparting learning strategies and skills. Teachers assessed the English proficiency of freshmen in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and provided detailed feedback and personalized preparation guidance for each student, fully preparing for the subsequent tiered teaching. Freshmen expressed that the lecture helped them better grasp the methods and skills of language learning, and they will follow the study plan step by step to improve their language proficiency, laying a solid foundation for future studies.

During the visit, students interacted with technical personnel and gained a deeper understanding of network data processing and cloud computing technology. To guide freshmen in establishing an innovative consciousness and cultivating the ability to innovate and start businesses, on the afternoon of September 21st, the school invited academic competition guidance teachers to give an extracurricular science and technology competition enlightenment lecture for students. They guided freshmen to establish an innovative consciousness from three aspects: independent learning, innovative training, and academic competitions, stimulating the enthusiasm of freshmen for innovation and entrepreneurship. In addition, outstanding upperclassmen representatives shared their experiences in learning, scientific research, and competitions with freshmen, stimulating their learning vitality and encouraging them to actively engage in university life with a positive attitude, writing their own new chapters.
