Introduction to the School of International Education

The School of International Education, established in 2023, is a directly affiliated teaching institution of WYU, primarily engaged in international educational work such as the recruitment, teaching, management, and services for students in Sino-foreign joint programs and international students coming to China. Since its establishment, the school has gradually developed a multi-level international talent cultivation system that relies on the university's characteristic and advantageous disciplines, features bilingual and fully English-taught courses, and focuses on undergraduate education with concurrent graduate education and language improvement programs.

Starting from the fall of 2024, our school recruits "2+2" Sino-foreign joint program students through the regular undergraduate admission process for the national college entrance examination (Gaokao). Currently, it offers two majors: Computer Science and Technology and Communication Engineering. These are our university's joint programs with the University of Wollongong, Victoria University in Australia and the University of Portsmouth in the UK, which involve credit recognition and joint degree conferment.

Our school actively responds to the national "Belt and Road" initiative, proactively serves the national diplomatic agenda, and promotes the construction of the China-Pacific Island Countries Center for Disaster Risk Reduction Cooperation. It recruits international students from "Belt and Road" countries such as the Solomon Islands, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Jordan, Brazil, Yemen, Turkey, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan, continuously optimizing the talent cultivation structure. In 2024, the school specifically recruited international students from Pacific Island countries for the Emergency Communication and Emergency Command majors, aiming to cultivate emergency response talents for these countries and enhance their disaster prevention and reduction capabilities.

Guided by national strategies and local development, the School of International Education is committed to cultivating high-quality, applied, and outstanding talents with an international perspective, and supports the high-quality development of the university through high-level opening up to the outside world.
