On the afternoon of July 5, 2024, a delegation from the University of Portsmouth, including Raymond Lee, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Nichole Zhang and Andy Liu, China regional representatives, visited our university for exchange and cooperation. Wang Chunyang, Our university's Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation; Wei Wen, Deputy Dean of the School of International Education;, Zhang Guirong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Dean Feng Tianhua from the School of Electronics and Information Engineering; and Hao Xiaoxi, Deputy Dean of the School of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, attended the exchange meeting.
At the meeting, Wang Chunyang warmly welcomed the Portsmouth delegation and introduced the history and current status of our university, as well as the preparation and publicity for the "2+2" Sino-foreign joint training program with the University of Portsmouth. Raymond Lee introduced the situation of the University of Portsmouth's Faculty of Engineering. Hao Xiaoxi and Feng Tianhua introduced the current teaching and scientific research activities of the School of Mechanical and Automation Engineering and the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, respectively.
Raymond Lee expressed his hope for future deep and multi-dimensional cooperation between the two universities and welcomed leaders and teachers from our university to visit the University of Portsmouth. Both sides conducted extensive discussions on teacher exchange, professional settings, educational resources, scientific research cooperation, and student services.
Our university signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Portsmouth in April 2024, and since 2024, both parties have been cooperating to jointly carry out the "2+2" Sino-foreign joint training program in Computer Science and Technology. This visit and exchange will effectively promote mutual understanding between the two universities, promote in-depth cooperation in our university's advantageous disciplines with the University of Portsmouth, create a platform for students to link to the world's top educational resources, and provide more international educational resources.
