IV. Vacation Safety Reminders
1
Travel Safety
Plan Your Trip Early
Report your itinerary to the school before departure. Verify destination weather and safety conditions. Bring essential documents (ID, student card) and save contact numbers for your advisor and emergency contacts. Plan transportation routes in advance, avoiding high-risk areas. Keep communication channels open; contact family/school immediately in emergencies. Never venture into undeveloped areas!
Follow Traffic Rules
Use licensed transportation only; avoid unlicensed vehicles. For self-driving: inspect your vehicle; strictly avoid fatigued or drunk driving. Always wear a helmet on e-bikes; never carry passengers or ride against traffic. Wear seatbelts in ride-hailing vehicles and share your trip in real-time. Travel with companions at night; avoid remote areas alone. Report safe arrival immediately!
Drowning Prevention
No wild swimming or entering unguarded waters! Choose regulated pools and obey safety instructions. If a companion is drowning, call lifeguards/police immediately—never attempt rescue blindly. Strictly wear life jackets for water activities (rafting, diving). Report water hazards promptly. Cherish life—stay vigilant!
2
Home Safety
Fire & Electrical Safety
Regularly check home wiring; avoid overloading high-power appliances (e.g., AC). Unplug chargers after use; never charge phones near pillows. Never leave cooking unattended; smother oil fires with a lid—never use water. Know escape routes; keep fire extinguishers accessible. Cut power and report to property management/119 if appliances smoke or smell.
Food Safety
Store raw/cooked foods separately. Do not refrigerate leftovers >24 hours; avoid high-risk foods entirely. Avoid pre-cut roadside fruits (bacterial hazard). Reject overeating in summer; call 120 immediately for food poisoning!
Anti-Theft Alert
Lock doors/windows; secure valuables; close curtains.
Never disclose exact room numbers for deliveries—destroy packaging labels before disposal. Never post tickets/house keys on social media; delay location check-ins. Change locks/codes when renting; deadbolt doors nightly. Share emergency contacts with neighbors.
3
Cybersecurity
Anti-Fraud Defense
Beware of common summer scams: fake "cash-back tasks," "too-cheap deals," "game top-up traps." Ignore calls requesting verification codes (e.g., "refunds," "law enforcement cases"). Verify employers before part-time work; reject deposits/"training fees." Never click unknown links, scan suspicious QR codes, or download unvetted apps. Always confirm transfers via call/in-person. Keep the National Anti-Fraud Center app alerts ON. Call 110 immediately if scammed!
Online Self-Protection
Limit daily recreational screen time to ≤3 hours; take 20-sec breaks every 40 mins to protect eyesight. Stop using devices 1 hour before bed to avoid blue-light sleep disruption. Resist internet addiction—join offline sports, social practices, or family activities. Guard privacy: never share IDs/tickets on social platforms.
4
Health Reminders
Heatstroke Prevention
Avoid outdoor activities from 10:00–16:00 during heatwaves; wear sun hats outdoors. Use AC if indoor temps exceed 32°C (set to 26°C)—avoid direct cold airflow. Drink ≥1.5L water daily; replenish electrolytes with mung bean soup or light salt water. Call 120 for dizziness/palpitations.
Disease Prevention
Prevent summer health risks:
Foodborne illness: Cook seafood thoroughly; consume cold dishes immediately; clean fridge weekly.
Insect-borne diseases: Wear long sleeves and insect repellent outdoors; avoid grassy areas; check for tick bites after returning home.
Stay safe and enjoy your summer!
