The first Jiangmen TV Dancing Competition was held between November 22 and 28. Teachers and students from the Dancing Department of WYU took an active part in the rehearsal during their spare time, and successfully admitted to the final contest.
Qiu Xuanhua, student from WYU, ranked the fourth among 70 contestants and won the silver prize with her performance Memory of the Floating Flowers. In the group dance competition, the gold prize went to “Freedom”, directed by Teacher Pan Xiaolu, while the silver prize fell to her “Revival”. “The Past of Watch Tower”, produced by Teacher Zhang Youyuan, got the bronze prize. Teacher Wang Chaoxu’s Youth of China won the bronze prize, and got the Best Directors Award. On behalf of the dancing department of WYU, Dean of the school of art and design Mr. Zhang Chao accepted the Best Organizer Award in the award-giving ceremony.
The TV Dancing Competition provided a great platform for WYU students to improve their dancing skills, and inspired teachers to create more dancing performance. Wuyi University will make greater contributions to Jiangmen, the capital of Chinese dancing.
