IV. Registration, Credits, Certification
- Prospective students are
requested to register before or on the specified day of registration and
bring the Admission Notice, a passport and eight passport photos.
- Credit hours. A credit hour
will be obtained for every 18 academic hours, providing that the student
passes the exam, and achieves 3 credits a month. Such credit is accepted
by institutions having formal agreements for credit transfer with this
university. A Professional Training Certificate will be issued to those
who have gained 80 credits and an Undergraduate Diploma for those with
140 credits. A B.A.degree will be awarded to those with 140 credits and
an accepted theses. The Chinese Language and Culture Professional
Certificate will be issued to those who satisfactorily finish a two-year
program with 80 credits.
- Those who have not completed
the required credits will be issued certificates for the individual
courses they have completed satisfactorily.
V. Tuition and Fees
- The tuition for one term is
U.S$800.The tuition can be paid at the beginning of each term. Tuition
will not be refunded when a student discontinues his or her studies or
transfers to another school after a semester has started. Eighty percent
to the tuition will be refunded if a student withdraws or transfers to
another school before the semester starts.

Lodging: US$ 5 a day for a bed in the Guest House. Two
students share a room equipped with two beds, a bath, a water
heater, a color TV set,air-conditioner and telephone. U.S$2-4 a day for a
bed in foreign students dormitories.

Meals: Approximately US$ 4-5 a day per person for 3
meals daily in the Center. A floating cost about U.S$2-3 in the
students'canteen.
- Other Expenses: Medical
expenses,insurance fee and costs of materials supplementary as well as
the textbooks will be borne by the students.
VI. Travel
- WYU is easy to reach from Hong
Kong and Macao. It is a 2.5 hour boat ride from Hongkong (Four boats a
day), a two-hour bus ride from Macao (via Zhuhai). It is 95 km from
Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province. It is very convenient for
students to go to Hongkong, Macao and Guangzhou for weekends or
holidays.
- Students arriving from Hongkong
will be met at the Jiangmen Ferry, providing the arrival date and time
are forwarded in advance.
